Make your fitness goals for 2015!

Posted on December 23, 2012 by Tara in Fitness, Living, Motivation, Weight Loss

With 2015 here, it is time to start planning your goals for 2015 so you can achieve all your health and fitness goals.
I cannot believe the new year is here! This year sure did fly by! You better start planning because I am certain this year will go quick too. To begin your resolution goals you should create a fitness and health plan that will list out all your goals. And the second part of this plan is sticking to your resolution goals. Make a promise to yourself and stick with it! You deserve it!
1. Review 2014

Begin by thinking of all the wonderful things you accomplished in 2014. Maybe you lost 5 pounds and made it to a fitness class 3 days a week. List all the positive things you accomplished in 2014 and right next to this list write out what you can do better. For 2015 focus on what you can do better but also be proud of all you have accomplished so far!

2. Set achievable goals

You may have a goal of running a marathon (26.2 miles one day) and that is great. But if you have never run a 5k (3.1 miles), then take baby steps this year make a goal of running 5k races. In a few months you can run a 10k (6.2 miles) and from there on you can build up to longer distances. Just take these steps to the marathon so you do not burn out or get defeated. The same goes for pounds lost. Set a weight loss goal of 5lbs not 50lbs. 6 and a ½ months of 8 lbs lost will yield your 50 pound goals…so take baby steps and don’t stress!

3. Keep Your Head up and Smile

Your goal may be to lose 30 pounds and you are continually focused on this number. You will never get there if you obsess so stop stressing already!! Do not look at weight loss as being connected to being on a diet. Keep your head up and focus on the positive things you can add to your life like more fruits. If you keep a positive mindset research shows you are more likely to lose weight. So turn that frown upside down!

4. Share the news

Share the great news of your weight loss goals with family and friends. Do not be hesitant to lay it all out there and let them know what you will achieve. By sharing this news you will let others know about your fitness plan and this will solidify that you are in this for a lifestyle not a temporary change.

5. Reward yourself

Make a goal to lose 10 lbs and then reward yourself with a facial. Food should not be your reward because then food is your main focus. Live life in fun fitness and know with hard work and dedication you can achieve your resolution goals! Wishing you a happy new year filled with sweaty workouts, healthy meals, a lot of fun and dedication!
