All my life I have always found staying fit to be hard work. It has never been easy but I have always envisioned the finish line at the end of the workout. And achieving the body I have always wanted would be the driving force of my motivation. Today I finally feel I have achieved this and I feel great but I have good and bad days just like anyone else. There are days when I really have to give myself an extra push to work harder and on these days I think about choosing to be the person I want to be. For example, today because I was tired I was going to run just 5 miles but I ran 7 miles because I knew that was what I should be doing because of my long distance race training. This importance of making the right decision is not always easy but it reaps great rewards of better physical and mental health.
How do you feel at the end of the day when you have not exercised and know you should just make the choice to do it? Do you ever make the choice to do this because you want to achieve your goals? If you answered yes, that is great and you are doing what you should be doing and these are healthy lifestyle changes. Do you ever make the decision to not exercise because you are tired? If you answered yes, do you ever regret this. Usually missing your workout will only produce regret. So I say give yourself that push. Next time you have a choice whether you will drive home or drive to your workout make the better choice. And do it for the body you have always wanted! Why? Because this is your time and you deserve this!
